“Thanksgiving is a holiday when we celebrate people emigrating to America and being welcomed by the people who were already there. It is the most American of holidays,” says Daniella Scruggs, development director for HIAS Pennsylvania. Across the United States, recently resettled refugees are learning the meaning of Thanksgiving at celebrations in the communities that have welcomed them.
On the evening of Tuesday, November 20, more than 100 refugees will come to River City Church for a Thanksgiving Dinner. Please prayerfully consider making time to drop by to say hello or help serve.
We need help by hosting, serving the meal, set-up, clean-up, games and crafts with children.
This is an event the whole family can serve at.

As the season of Thanksgiving approaches, we want to celebrate all that the Lord has done for us. Join us for a night of worship, testimonies, pie, and gratefulness as we celebrate His goodness at River City Church on Sunday, November 18 5:00PM TO 6:30PM. After the service, you are welcome to join us as we "Deck the River City Halls" of our building.
Our church family includes many talented bakers. If you'd like to bake, or buy, your favorite pie to share please sign-up in the lobby this week. No need to sign-up as a pie eating volunteer, all are invited to join in for that step.
This Christmas we are helping families in need. On a special tree in the church lobby hang ornaments with gift ideas on the back. These gift will be used in our annul Gift Mart and Christmas Party. Parents needing help this year will have to the opportunity to pick out the gifs of their choice and purchase them for $1. The instills dignity and honor to the parents in need of help this year. Please consider taking an ornament or 2, or 3 to purchase a gift, and blessing these families. If you don’t have time to shop you can mark your offering - Christmas Gift Mart or give here online.
On Sunday, December 9 from 12:00PM-3:00PM River City Church will partner with the Batavia Apartments to help families in need have a Christmas celebration this year. We will a Christmas Gift Mart, here at River City Church, where families will select Christmas gifts, donated by Toys for Tots, for their families! On Tuesday and Wednesday. during the day (prior to the Gift Mart), we could also use your to help with setup.
On Dec. 2nd we will need help picking up the toys from storage and delivering them to River City Church.
On Dec. 7th we will be set-up the Shopping Room, wrapping room, and auditorium for the party
On the day of the event Dec. 9th we will need help with child crafts, gift shopper assistants, gift wrappers, food servers, and host.

We joyfully invite you to celebrate the greatest gift of Christmas, Jesus, at one of our two identical Eve of Christmas Eve Services. Come at 10:00AM or 4:00PM Sunday, December 23, to River City Church, 3450 Swenson Ave. in St. Charles.
This family-friendly Christmas Eve gathering includes festive live music, reading of the biblical Christmas Story, and a special candlelight rendition of "Silent Night."
For the afternoon service, doors will open beginning at 3:00PM to enjoy hot cocoa, cookies and a family photo opportunity before the service.
